4 things you can do with your old clothes

Hey there loves! It's been a while since I have posted anything new, so I thought that since it is getting closer to the end of the year, I would talk to you about clearing out the clutter in your home or in this case, several things that you can do with old clothes that you no longer wear.

1. Donate

As a child I grew quite rapidly and as a result my mother would always collect every thing that didn't fit and was still in good condition and donate them to local shelters and orphanages. She even donated my old school uniforms to my school. Not everyone is fortunate enough to buy new clothing; especially during the holidays and I'm so happy that my mom taught me that at a young age. There is always someone out there that needs a helping hand and it is a tradition that I hope to carry on with my own children in the future. Hopefully, it is something you will consider as well. It doesn't take much effort to look up local shelters or organizations near you and considering it is the season of giving I feel like everyone should make at least a small effort to make someone else smile.

2. Up-cycle

If you're someone who is creative, this is for you. Just imagine all the cool things you can create with all that fabric. I have friends that use old clothing to make bags, dolls and sometimes they simply add something new to the clothing to give it a different feel. Personally, l have even used fabric from my old clothing as a canvas for painting. There are tons of cool ideas for projects out there and even some that could be great for little kids.

3. Hand-me-downs

I know I already mentioned donating, but in this case I am going to address parents. Sometimes you may know someone such as a close friend or relative that also has kids around the same age. In this case I would suggest sharing clothing that your kids have outgrown and no longer wear. There are often times that your kids may have received clothing that they never wear at all and to be perfectly honest, we all know how costly kids and clothing can be over time and if you have something that your kids do not use any more, then why not offer it to someone you know that could definitely use the help.

4. Sell your old clothing

In a lot of cases the items in your closet may be worth a small amount, especially vintage clothing. There are a ton of shops and online sites such as eBay and etsy, where you can sell your goodies and make some kind of income. There are always people out there that are looking for fun and unique clothing to add to their own collections.
If you are still unsure about what to do with your old clothing, then there are a ton of other options out there for you. All it takes is a little effort to find an option that suits your needs. What do you do with your old clothes? Leave a response below! Until next time...
