Advice for your younger self

We all have something we wish we could tell our younger selves, whether it's about relationships or just life in general. I know I would tell my younger self not to be afraid to speak up. If they don't like what you have to say then so be it. Don't ever let them walk all over you. After thinking about it a bit more I asked several of my friends what advice they would give to their younger selves as well.

"Study more in school. "
"Stay away from alcohol."
"Do not be friends with people you meet at church."
"Do not date guys you meet at church. "
"Learn to move on." - Dwaynisha Henderson

" Don't to fall in love so quickly. Learn to guard your heart and do not be so trusting. Spend time with yourself." - Donnava Henderson

"Don't be afraid of change and discomfort. Sometimes they go hand in hand, but it doesn't make change bad. Fitting in isn't always important, treasure what you do have, trust your gut you're smarter than you give yourself credit for and don't be afraid to try and fail even though I know you don't like it. Closure isn't mandatory and breathe even tho u may not get an answer now doesn't mean it isn't coming... breathe and chill" - Jin-ah Hunte

"It's okay to take your time. Be slow to go into friendships and relationships. Too much too soon always leads to a broken heart. It's more fragile than you can ever imagine." - Levant

"Be careful when hanging out with friends. Always watch how much you drink!"  - Alexa Russo

"Avoid people who pretend to be friends!" -Dayna Cortes

My friends had a lot to say on the topic, but I simply posted a few things they wanted to say to their younger selves. I find it so interesting how experiences when we were younger shaped our thought process today. Mostly they seemed to want to dissuade themselves from making bad choices or to encourage themselves. What would you want to tell your younger self if you had the chance?
